Impotence - penile implants
When it comes to combating impotence in men there are a number of options used to combat this, penile implants is one those that is used by men with erectile dysfunction, often referred to as” internal penile pumps.
A Penile Implant is a device that inflates and is surgically placed in the penis and allows a man to have an erection whenever he chooses. Not to be confused with any method of surgically fixing a man’s penis, it is a mechanical device that works for the man when required. The penis also does not deflate after orgasm until the man pushes a release valve and for some men this is disadvantage to getting a penile implant.
The penile prosthesis is surgically inserted only when the erection problem is due to medical issues. These are often implanted during surgery to reconstruct the penis hen there is curvature to the penis caused through damage.
Implanting a penile prosthesis does not produce a penis that looks and feels totally normal when not erect; however, penile implants have yet to reach complete sophistication. For many people opting for a penile implant rather than medications such as Viagra or Cialis is an option.
Penile prostheses come in three different types all come in three pieces which include two cylinders, a reservoir, and a pump, all of which are implanted into the body. Two cylinders are inserted into the penis and connected by tubing to a separate reservoir of fluid this reservoir is implanted under the groin muscles. A pump is also connected to the system and is placed under the loose skin of the scrotal sac, usually between the testes.
The penile implant is operated by the man pressing on the pump inflating the implant causing the fluid to be transferred from the reservoir to the cylinders in the penis, causing it to inflate. The penis has the stiffness and thickness as if it was a natural erection and studies have shown that women have a perfectly satisfactory sexual experience. Surgery leaves a small bit of scarring at the bottom of the penis and medical studies show that a penile prosthesis does not change sensation on the skin of the penis or for the ability for a man to reach an orgasm is or release of fluids is not impaired.
