People who are aged 1 year and older who have had flu symptoms that have appeared within the previous day or two. These symptoms of flu typically include sudden onset of fever and chills, cough, muscle pain, headache, fatigue and weakness. Some people also get a stuffy nose and sore throat.
What should I expect if I take Tamiflu?
In adult patients who took Tamiflu felt better 1to 3 days after starting the treatment.
Should I take other medications with Tamiflu?
Your doctor may recommend taking over-the-counter medications to reduce fever or other symptoms whilst the antiviral action of Tamiflu works on your system and it has been shown that there is minimal chance of a reaction to other drugs.
How and when should I take Tamiflu?
Tamiflu should be taken twice daily once in the morning and once in the evening for five days.
What if I miss a dose?
You should take the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it is within 2 hours of the next dose.
Are there any common possible side effects of Tamiflu?
The most common side effects are nausea and vomiting but it is generally well tolerated.
