How thoroughly has Xenical been tested?
Xenical has been tested and approved by the FDA. Its effects on weight loss, weight maintenance and weight regain, as well as the effects of weight loss with Xenical on other weight-related health problems such as type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol levels and high blood pressure, have been assessed clinical trials. 

What is the difference between Xenical and other weight-loss medications?
Xenical is not an appetite suppressant. It works in your digestive system to block about one-third of the fat in the food you eat from being digested.

How do I know if I'm ready for Xenical?
You must be committed and prepared to talk with your doctor and following the proper medication schedule. You must also commit to eating a reduced-calorie diet with no more than 30 percent of calories from fat. Your doctor will require that you monitor your food intake and take multivitamins daily.

Can I take Xenical with other medications?
You must discuss with your doctor any medication you are taking and how the drugs can affect each other. If you are taking cyclosporine, let your doctor know before taking Xenical. Cyclosporine and Xenical should be taken at least 2 hours apart.

 Should I take a multivitamin with Xenical?
Taking Xenical interferes with your body's absorption of some fat-soluble vitamins take a daily multivitamin supplement that contains vitamins D, E and K and beta carotene once a day at least 2 hours before 

How long should I use Xenical?
Xenical use for more than 2 years has not been studied so you will have to work with your doctor as to how long you should take it.

If Xenical works only on the fat in the foods I've eaten, how do I lose the fat on my body?
By consuming fewer calories, your body will burn fat stores and use them for the energy it needs. Studies have shown that once the body is no longer taking in as many calories the body will turn to the fat storage it has built up.

If I take Xenical, can I eat whatever I want?
The Xenical dietary guidelines do not tell you what food you can’t eat however you must work within the 30% fat guideline diet for Xenical to work properly. 

What happens if I miss a dose or take more than the recommended dose?
If you miss a dose, you lose the benefit of Xenical in blocking one-third of the fat in the food you eat at that meal. Just start taking Xenical again at your next meal.
